12 Days Photograph Safari

This 12 days northern circuit safari covers all major parks of Northern Tanzania, furthermore you will have lots of opportunities to meet with local communities. This off the beaten track itinerary will ensure that you get away from the tourist comfort zone, and experience the African bush from the Deluxe Tent.

Day 1. Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha

Arrival to JRO meet and greet by Introducing Africa driver guide head back through to Arusha checking into Arumeru River Lodge

Day2.Arusha- LakeManyara

After breakfast slowly head through a rolling landscape to The Great Rift valley basin. Head into Lake Manyara for full day game drives at your leisure visit the lake shore, continuing to explore the acacia tunnels at your leisure, late afternoon leave the park and head to the tented bush camp set on elevated acacia bush overlooking The Great Rift Valley. Meet with you Maasai guide for introductions into Maasai culture and beliefs. Traditional Song and dance of the Maasai before heading for showers and a peaceful evening accompanied by the bush chorus.

Day 3. Lake Manyara National Park -Natron

Wake to the sound of cow bells, whoops and whistle as the Maasai boys lead the cattle out for grazing. Enjoy hot drinks outside your tent, before meeting your Maasai guide for traditional medicine walk in the surrounding hill side, return for breakfast there after board the safari vehicle dropping down to take a look inside a traditional boma (mud dwelling).Bid fair well to your newly acquainted Maasai friends following the Rift valley wall through a wild ancient landscape to the Lake Natron Basin. Your choice to head to the Lake as the day draws to a close or head to the lake Natron public camp where you are free to wander at your leisure taking a glance at village life of Ngaresero village.

Day 4. The shores of Lake Natron

Breakfast – choice of activities to your wishes. Head down to the lake shores by 4×4 vehicle – enjoy walks out on the mud flats around the shores of Lake Natron, view Lesser East African flamingo and other water birds – return during the hottest part of the day taking in the water falls to cool off with excellent swimming and relaxing. Late afternoon walks in the surrounding area.

Day 5. Lake Natron-Serengeti National Park

After breakfast have with a short walking tour to Lake Natron, the breeding site for Flamingos. Enjoy seeing mount Oldonyo Lengai (“Mountain of God” in Masai language), volcanic mountain that recently erupted. Around noon you leave Natron to Serengeti via Loliondo and Waso through Kleins gate. One the way you can observe animals like Antelopes, Wildebeest, Wild dogs and Zebras. Dinner and overnight stay at Campsite
Day 6. The Serengeti National Park

Full day game drives starting at dawn of Serengeti National Park – plan your day together with your driver guide – unlimited game drives putting you in the best locations to view wildlife away from the madding crowds.

Day 7. NCA - Ndutu Area

Dawn wakeup call – head out as planned with your driver guide to catch the new day begins. Return in your own time for full breakfast and relaxation. There after continuing through with game drives en-route through to the Ndutu Plains. Take in the moving masses as you slowly make your way through to the seasonal tented camp in a prime location.

Day 8. NCA - Ndutu Area

The annual wildebeest migration will be in full swing so plan game drives with your driver guide who will best advise you where and when to go conducting game drives at your leisure using the camp as temporary base to head out from.

Day 9. NCA - Ngorongoro Highlands walk

Morning game drives at your leisure – Lunch at the lodge – early afternoon leave the Ndutu plains climbing up into the Ngorongoro highlands continuing to skirt around the crater rim to the special camp perched on the crater rim itself. Meet with an NCAA ranger for crater rim walking safari.

Day 10. Ngorongoro Crater

Drop down into the Crater floor for full day game drives with picnic lunch in the bush. There are copious amounts of large animals residing in the crater floor; elephants are mainly bulls with females staying out of the park due to the largest predator population in Africa. Black Rhino also make their home on the grassy plains offering the best chances of viewing them out in the open.

Late afternoon begin the climb out of the crater heading back to the camp for refreshments and your second overnight on the crater rim.

Day 11. NCA - Empakai Crater - Arusha

Wake at first light – early breakfast with a view down into the crater board the safari vehicle passing through the Embulbul depression to the rim of Empakai crater. Drop down into the Empakai crater to view the Lesser East African flamingo that congregate along the foreshore – return to the car for relaxed brunch/lunch. There after leave the crater highlands slowly making your way back to Arusha heading to the lodge.

Day 12.Lake Duluti-Kilimanjaro Airport

Morning of leisure, head to Lake Duluti for a relaxed lunch at Arumeru River Lodge  followed by guided lake walk. Continue through to JRO according to international flight times.
