Lake Victoria Safari

The second largest fresh water lake in the world, Lake Victoria geographically dominates the area with its 70,000 sq km surface. Despite its huge size, the murky lake is not that deep, A Lake Victoria Safari will guarantee you uncrowned and private game viewing. The region is also ideal for bird watching as the lake attracts a variety of large water birds. In this safari you will visit Rubondo Island National,Saa nane Island and Lukuba Island

Day 1: Arrival

Arrival Mwanza Airport or by Bus and you will met our driver who will drive you to Hotel for Lunch or Dinner and overnight

Day 2: Mwanza-Rubondo Island

We take our private car from your hotel after breakfast at 8:00am drive to Muganza/Nkome Bay which is about 4 hours then take Speed boat to the Island which is 30 minutes to Rubondo Island National park, on arrival we will have game drive via site seeing and if you are luck you will have first spot of wildlife. This day it will be your good time for evening photographic (Photos)

Rubondo island boasts a unique diversity of flora and fauna. Only here the visitor can be sure of seeing sitatunga. Other mammals frequently seen include hippo, otters, bushbuck, vervet monkeys. Rarer sightings are colobus, genet, marsh mongoose, suni antelope and elephant. Rubondo is a paradise for bird-lovers with nearly 400 species documented on the island. Day 3 & 4: Rubondo Island National Park

On the island it is possible to organize several tours. Walking tours through the identified path in the forest takes 3- 4 hours on the way you can meet giraffe, sittinga’s, elephant etc, you can go sport Fishing then get big Tilapia for barbeque in the evening.  In the evenings you can sit around the open fire and enjoy the African quite evenings (Note.) Day 5: Rubondo Island-Mwanza

Morning walk is the best in Rubondo then back for branch at 10:30 then drive to the rangers post ready for the boat to the mainland. From here we will drive back to Mwanza Overnight at Tilapia Hotel or Malaika Beach Resort

Day 6 -7: Mwanza-Lukuba Island

Early in the morning drive from Mwanza to Musoma for Lukuba Island, Guests are met at the Tembo Beach Hotel in Musoma (time pre-arranged) and begin their Lake Victoria adventure by boarding the lodge speed boat. Sightseeing and bird watching are done en route to the island, stopping at various rock outcrops where flocks of cormorants, egrets and ibises, as well as the occasional monitor lizard, are known to sunbathe. Guests are warmly received at the private beach and are shown to their luxury, lake-front bungalow. Days at Lukuba are passed relaxing on the beach, swimming in the lake, exploring the island and its unique fishing culture, or in pursuit of the highly-prized Nile perch and tilapia. Sun-downers are enjoyed from one of the island's impressive rocky vantage points with a spectacular view of the sun as it sinks into Lake Victoria. Hot showers are followed by a three-course dinner and a relaxing chat around the lakeside fire. Retiring to a comfortable bed, the sounds of gently lapping waves, frogs and wildlife lulls one to sleep. After breakfast the next morning, guests depart the island for Musoma to arrive by 09h00 and drive to Mwanza Airport for your home Flight or continue with Serengeti Safari
