This trip is a combo of Africa’s finest wildlife destinations in two of its most incredible countries, Kenya and Tanzania. From soda-encrusted, flamingo-littered Rift Valley lakes and the alpine Aberdares to eventually snaking into the massive safari circuit of northern Tanzania, with its world famous destinations like Rubondo Island NP, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater and ultimately, the Wildebeest-filled Serengeti ecosystem, this trip has it all. You will blow through many 32 Megabyte cards daily, and keeping up with managing your photos will be more of a hassle than finding suitable subject material in these premier big-mammal and birding watching destinations.
15 Days:Kenya and Tanzania Photograph Safari
Day 1: Arrive Nairobi
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, after disembarking from the aircraft, you clear customs and immigration formalities. You will be met and assisted by Introducing Africa Safaris and Travel representative and transferred to your Nairobi Hotel, which is situated within the city centre. The day is at leisure. Overnight at Panafric Hotel
Day 2: Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park:
0700hrs: depart your Nairobi hotel for the Lake Nakuru national park with stopovers and scenic points along the route.
The drive takes you via agricultural areas of the central highlands with coffee, tea and subsistence crop farming.
We shall stop at several points to marvel and take photos of the Great Rift Valley drop.
We shall be at the lake Nakuru national park in time for lunch.
Afternoon bird and game viewing drives around the park and in to the sanctuary.
Relaxation, dinner and overnight at your lake Nakuru lodge.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park - Lake Naivasha - Nairobi.
Bird and game viewing drives at the Lake Nakuru.
Breakfast at your lake Nakuru lodge.
Depart Lake Nakuru for Lake Naivasha on a relaxed drive.
Lunch at the lake Naivasha.
Early afternoon spent on a boat excursion ride to the Cresent Island where we spot small game in idyllic settings.
Drive to Nairobi and your city hotel to arrive in the early evening.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Traverse the Rift Valley and ascend its western rim into the Masai land. Red-clad, with spear Masai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, admirably unmoved by the presence of large predators. Afternoon game drive in search of wildlife. Overnight at Mara Serena Safari Lodge based on full board.
Day 5: Full day in Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Morning and afternoon game drives in this spectacular game reserve, all with superb photographic opportunities. The most spectacular feature is the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from the plains of Serengeti that cross the Tanzanian border and rivers to reach the Mara’s grasslands from late June, tracked by predators: lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and circled by vultures as the journey unfolds. Apart from the seasonal migration, game viewing is excellent year round. Game includes: - elephant, Black Rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra, hartebeest, various antelope and gazelle, lion, leopard, giraffe, elephant cheetah, hippo, crocodile and much more. Overnight at Mara Serena Safari Lodge based on full board.
DAY 6: Maasai Mara - Mwanza
After breakfast depart with picnic lunch to Isebania border where you will clear customs and board the Tanzanian Vehicles. Drive to your lodge situated in Mwanza town for Dinner and Overnight at Tilapia Hotel or Malaika Beach Resort.
Day 7: Mwanza-Rubondo Island
We take our private car your hotel after your breakfast at 8:00am for drive to Muganza/Nkome Bay which is about 4 hours then take Speed boat to the Island which is 30 minutes to Rubondo Island National park, on arrival we will have game drive via site seeing and if you are luck you will have first spot of wildlife. This day it will be your good time for evening photographic (Photos)
Rubondo Island boasts a unique diversity of flora and fauna. Only here can the visitor be sure of seeing sitatunga. Other mammals frequently seen include hippo, otters, bushbuck, vervet monkeys. Rarer sightings are colobus, genet, marsh mongoose, suni antelope and elephant. Rubondo is a paradise for bird-lovers with nearly 400 species documented on the island. Day 8 & 9: Rubondo Island NP
On the island it is possible to organise several tours. Walking tours through the identified path in the forest takes 3- 4 hours on the way you can meet giraffe, sitatungas, elephant etc, you can go sport Fishing then get big Tilapia for barbeque in the evening. In the evenings you can sit around the open fire and enjoy the African quite evenings(Note.This day will very special day for photos,Boat Riding, Bird Watching, Rubondo is a small park but its like a paradise. Day 10:Rubondo Island-Mwanza
Morning walk is the best in Rubondo then back for branch at 10:30 then drive to the rangers post ready for the boat to the mainland. From here we will drive to back to Mwanza Overnight at Tilapia Hotel or Malaika Beach Resort
Day 11: Mwanza-Serengeti NP
Morning Breakfast, after that you will drive to Serengeti for your morning and Afternoon game drive a crossing Crocodile and Hipo pool Overnight at Serengeti Mbalageti or Serena Lodge,
Day 12: Full day in Serengeti National Park
Breakfast at your lodge. Morning and afternoon game drives. More than two million wildebeest, Thompson’s gazelle and zebra gather during the migration, attracting a great deal of attention from their predators such as lion, hyena, cheetah and leopard. Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge based on full board.
Day 13: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast drive to drive to Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Continue to your lodge situated on the rim of the Ngorongoro crater. The crater covers over 250 square kilometers (over 100 square miles) of land and is the home of the rare black rhino, prides of lion, elephant, cheetah and great herds of buffalo, antelope and wildebeest. Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge full board basis.
Day 14: Full day in Ngorongoro Crater
Today you will descend 600m (0ver 2000 feet) to the floor of the crater for a full day crater tour with picnic lunch. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkey and elephant, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Day 15: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara-Arusha
Breakfast at your lodge. Drive to Lake Manyara famous for its prolific bird-life and other inhabitants such as hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions Lunch at your lodge. This afternoon you will drive down for a game drive late afternoon you will drive to Arusha ready to Airport transfer or other destination, Like Zanzibar, Mafia Island or Pemba.
